Article Summary
Archiving and deleting a class have different outcomes:
- Archive – removes students and deactivates the class but keeps all data
- Delete – permanently removes the class and all associated data
Archived classes can be restored and reused (manual classes only).
Archiving or deleting LMS‑imported classes does not affect the LMS.
To archive a class:
- Open the class menu (three dots) and select Archive class
- Archived classes are hidden from the Home page by default
- Enable Show archived classes in Profile to view them again
To delete a class:
- Open the class menu and select Class settings
- Scroll to Manage and click Delete class
- Confirm deletion when prompted
What are the differences between archive or delete a class?
Archiving a class deactivates it and removes students, but you can still access all class data, including questions and past responses. You can unarchive the class to continue asking questions and getting feedback – though you will only be able to do this in the case of manually created class.
Deleting a class permanently removes it and all its data from your account. Students are also removed. Note: Archiving nor deleting a class imported from your LMS will not affect your LMS classes.
