To have survey logic, you need to have at least two blocks.
Once you have multiple blocks, you can control how subsequent blocks appear based on the answer to a question in the previous block.
To illustrate, please see a simple sample survey below, where there are three blocks (A, B & C), and Question 1 in Block A can be answered with either “Yes” or “No”.
Let’s create a simple example of survey logic so that if the participant answered “Yes” to Question 1 in Block A, then they will be able to view questions in Block B. Otherwise, if they answered “No” to Question 1, they will not see the questions in Block B, moving straight to Block C. To do this:
- Click on the logic arrows symbol on the left side of the survey creation menu:
- Click Start now.
- We will select Block A and select Question 1.
- We will set the logic so that if answer is Yes, then Show Block B.
Alternatively, if answer to Question 1 is “Yes”, and you want the participant to only see Block B, then the logic will be Hide Block C.
- Click Save.
You can continue to add more rules if needed.
- Assess the logic by previewing the survey.
You can customise how participants view your survey questions in many ways. Try different survey logic by varying question or block designs and preview the survey to ensure it meets your preferences.
