Article Summary
StudentSense provides detailed analysis tools for survey responses. Results can be filtered by round to compare responses across different time periods. Text response questions include:
- AI summary (available after sufficient responses)
Scale questions include:
- Bar chart of response distribution
- Option to compare average results across rounds
- AI summary (if text responses are enabled)
Multiple choice questions display results using a bar chart. Matrix questions display results as a heatmap or as counts. Each question type presents results differently to support deeper insights.
Filter results by round
For all question types, if you’ve either run the survey multiple times or stopped and resumed the survey, you can filter the results between different “rounds” (i.e. the different time periods the survey was open for) by clicking on Filter and choosing the relevant round(s) – allowing you to filter responses for a particular time period.
AI Summary for text response questions
For text response questions, once you have gathered more than ten responses, StudentSense will give you an AI summary that quickly captures feedback from the class.
Round comparison for rating scale questions
For scale questions, you can get a quick overview of the count of different ratings with a simple bar chart. Note that if you have enabled additional text response, an AI summary will also be available:
More importantly, if you’ve closed and repeated the same scale question multiple times, you can compare the average results between different rounds by selecting the “Average” option.
Bar chart for multiple choice questions
For multiple choice questions, a simple bar chart is provided for quick summary:
Matrix heatmap
For matrix type questions, you can view the results summary in a percentage heatmap:
Alternatively, you can also view the counts of the results by clicking on the “Counts” option:
