1. Create a class
A class in StudentSense is where you can add your students and create questions for check-ins, surveys, and get feedback.
To create a class, from the Home page, click Create a class or import a class.
Then, give your class a name (e.g. Class 1), and the right segment for you for each of the categories. You’ll also need to determine your relevant teaching area.
After you’re done with the above, click Create.
Congratulations on creating your first class!
2. Ask a question
From the Home screen, click Create question.
In the question box, type in the question you’d like to ask (e.g. “How are you feeling today?”) and then choose the Question type you’d like to use (e.g. Emoji).
We’d also recommend you review question options to add a text response, change anonymity and change the time it was open for.
Once you are happy, click Create.
Then, choose the class you’d like the question to be assigned to (e.g. “Class 1”) to assign this question to.
After that, decide when the question is available. If you click Ask now, the question will be available for your students to answer. Alternatively, you can select the schedule button which appears like a clock, to select a time which suits.
Now that you’ve created your first class and asked your first question. The next step is to wait for your students to respond. Normally, students that were added to the class will be notified via email that their educator has posted a question. In this example, let’s assume your students were already added to your class, saw your question, and responded to it.
3. Review students' responses
To quickly see your students’ responses, click on your class (e.g. “Class 1”). Under the Live section, click on a relevant question (e.g. “How are you feeling today?”).
For this example, let’s have a look at a different question – “How well do you understand what’s required for your next assessment?” Here, this educator has gathered 27 total responses from students
In this view, the educator is quickly able to:
- See the number of scores that they received from the students
- Get an AI text summary from students’ comments (only available if you enabled additional text responses)
- View specific student and their feedback
