With your prerequisites in place, you can create the Question Set itself. This section gets the shell in place - naming it, picking a starting point, and adding your first Block.
Start a new Question Set
From the Manage menu, open Evaluation setup and choose Add question set.
A new Question Set opens empty, ready for you to name and structure - then each question is built in the editor below.
Choose a starting point
You don't have to build from scratch every time. StudentSense lets you start two ways, so you can match an existing survey structure or reuse one you've run before:
Start blank
An empty Question Set you build Block by Block. Best for a new evaluation design.
Duplicate an existing set
Copy a previous Question Set - all Blocks and questions included - then adjust. Ideal for spinning up a variant of a set you already trust.
Name it for your team
Whether you started blank or from a duplicate - duplicating prompts you to rename the copy - give it a name now. Question Sets are built to be reused across many Evaluations - the same set might run for Semester 1 2026, Semester 2 2027, and the summer term. So its name is an internal label for the survey team, not something students or educators ever see (what they see is covered later). Pick a name that's meaningful to your team and easy to version as the instrument evolves.
