What is a class?
A class in StudentSense is the group of students you’d like to run check-ins with. Before you can ask students questions and receive feedback, you must first create a class.
You can create your own classes manually or import them if StudentSense is integrated into your LMS (see the bottom of this article).
Creating a class
Before creating a class, we recommend quickly considering what kind of class you would like to create – a Connect or GO class. For most instances, we would recommend Connect classes.
To create a class, from the Home page:
- Click Create a class.
- Give your class a Name.
- Choose the right segment for you for each of the categories. Note that the categories and segments are created by your institution admin.
- Optional: If your institution has GO Classes enabled, you will have the option to decide between them here. To create a Connect class, leave this switch on. To create a GO class, toggle it off.
- After you are done with the above, click Create.
Import a class
This option is available if StudentSense has been integrated with your Learning Management System (LMS). By importing your class, your student list will be drawn from the LMS and updated automatically to your StudentSense class, saving you the trouble of having to manually add or remove students.
